Allardin 1836. 8vo, [4]-386 pp., torn binding (could use a nice binding). Marie-Anne Quinault (1695-1791) indeed existed: she made her debut at the Comédie Française on January 1, 1714, before embarking on a high-profile career which better suited her temperament. However, these Memoirs are more a creation of the fertile imagination of the polygrapher Lamothe-Langon, a manufacturer of memories in series. This production likely did not meet readers' expectations: intended to be in four volumes, it was limited to two volumes. Very rare.Related Products
