André Rivoire, born in Vienna (Isère) THE 5 may 1872 and died at Paris THE 19 august 1930, is a poet And playwright French.
André Rivoire begins his studies at the Robin Institution. Admitted in second year at the Ampère high school in Lyon, he continued at Henri-IV high school. Student ofHenri Bergson, he turned very early to poetry and published under the pseudonymAndré Suzel. He has a degree in literature.
After a poetic collection, Virgos (1895) and a dramatic fantasy Berthe with big feet (1899), he gives Love’s Dream (1900) And The Path to Oblivion (1904) in an intimate vein. Among his eighteen pieces, we note The Good King Dagobert (1908) And Roger Bontemps (1920). Her theater worth by a delicate and light touch and a certain accuracy of psychological observation.
In 1900, he received the Archon-Desperouses price.

Fernand Gregh

Born in Paris, October 14, 1873.
Son of the composer Louis Gregh, whose family was originally from Malta, Fernand Gregh received his secondary education at the Michelet, Louis-le-Grand and Condorcet high schools where he was a classmate of Marcel Proust. First prize in French composition at the General Competition in 1890, he prepared a degree in philosophy at the Sorbonne.
Founder, in 1896, of the magazine The Banquet, in which Proust, Robert de Flers, Léon Blum and Henri Barbusse collaborated, Fernand Gregh had become famous at the age of twenty-two, for a short poem that the critic of Time, distracted, had taken it for an unknown poem by Verlaine. Gregh was then to enter the Paris Review, of which he became one of the editors-in-chief until 1909.
A poet above all, in a time when “schools” which were more like chapels flourished, Fernand Gregh founded his own, which he called “humanism” in reaction against the decadence of symbolism. From 1896 he published numerous collections, including The House of Childhood, The Beauty of Living, Human Clarity, The Gold of Minutes, The Eternal Chain, The Sorrowful Crown, Color of Life, The Glory of the Heart. He is also the author of critical essays: The Open Window, Study on Victor Hugo, The work of Victor Hugo, Portrait of French poetry from Chénier to Verlaine, Portrait of modern poetry from Rimbaud to Paul Valéry. Finally Fernand Gregh published several volumes of memories: My friendship with Marcel Proust, The Bronze Age, The Golden Age.
President of the Society of Gens of Letters from 1949 to 1950, Fernand Gregh was elected to the French Academy on January 29, 1953, by 25 votes in the first round, against the publisher Bernard Grasset, in the chair of the Count of Chambrun. He could claim to be, on the one hand, among the oldest members at the time of their election – he was 80 years old.
Fernand Gregh was received under the dome on June 4, 1953 by Jules Romain.
